So my brother decided he too would like some customised Converse shoes.
It is really becoming my speciality, you know.
I used the same things as usual.
First coat of paint: Fabric Medium and acrylic paint.
Other layers: paint again.
Some details: black Sharpie marker.

Been REAL busy with school and work so didn't have time to make something cool.
But then my little cousin wanted sneakers and I couldn't refuse!

So here it is.
One shoe is inspired by BBC's Sherlock and the other by Doctor Who
I'm very happy I got to try the "galaxy" effect with the Doctor Who shoe, I'm happy how it turned out.

The Sherlock shoe: on side is the London skyline and well... Sherlock. The other side is blood and 221B (baker street). Under the laces is the print on the wall at Sherlock's pad.
Took me about 5 hours.

So!
I have been looking enviously at Tom's slipper designs and finally decided on the theme that I will chose to slap on layers and layers of paint.

I chose the amazing design I have seen somewhere on Etsy.com with R2D2 as a theme.
I have been playing Star Wars The Old Republic and I'm really starting to become a Star Wars fanatic.
I'd seriously have my whole apartment Star Wars themed but its expensive.....

Enough babble.
I started out with the Tom's shoes knock off from Urban Planet that cost me 10$ instead of 110$. You know, just in case  I mess up....

I also wore these shoes an entire summer so they are quite ugly.

Then I covered the sides with blue paint. R2D2 will actually be only on the front part of the shoe...

And then reaaaaaaally slowly, while studying for my Metabolism Exam, I proceeded to draw the adorable little robot.



Final result:
-1 pair of custom R2D2 shoes at the low total cost of 14$ (with paint and primer)

New trend: let's draw on shirts to get funny shirts for the fraction of the cost.
My test-project is "Retrovirus Hoodie".
Same principle as the Converse Sneakers.
It turned out good.

Dear readers!
It has been a hectic school semester, with work piled on top of that. I hardly had any time to draw.
But I still decided to make at least one of my Christmas/New Year presents by hand so I did:
A Lunchbox!

I haven't MADE the lunchbox, I BOUGHT it, but I did DECORATE it.
So I used the same materials as usually I do with shoes!
Acrylic paint, fabric medium, matte varnish to finish.

The black spots are intentional, but I did end up with black paint sprays all over my face....
I hope the person I give this to likes it!

Here is my first attempt at colouring Slip-ons.
I know a cute 5 year old that absolutely adores the Pixar "Brave" movie.
I initially wanted to put the princess on one shoe and a target on the other and put a quote.
So I drew the princess



Here is the finished product. I added a plaid pattern behind, she is scotish!

I used his drawing as inspiration and copied one of his drawings too. These are pencil cases for my nieces.

Cool woven bracelet I made.
Its fun to make but kinda long.

Wanted to make a cake. With fondant and marzipan and all... Decided to make a half-Life themed cake.
So:
Standard coffee cake flavoured cake.

Marzipan head crab painted with gel food colouring





The frosting is coloured standard Betty Crocker cream cheese frosting. The flowers, leaves and butterfly are made out of fondant and painted.
The logo and crab are painted marzipan.
Yum!

I wanted to make a bday gift for my better half and decided to customize converse shoes.
As I know my better half is very fond of the Beatles, I printed out their faces.
Portraiting is hard! I used a technique where you cover the shoe with matte medium and apply the portrait. Then you rip it off and it "magically prints out".
Thats in theory!
It doesnt print out! It just leaves a faint black outline you need to go over completely. But the faint outline served as a guide. These shoes took me 9 hours to customize. started at 11 am, finished by supper.  Here are the creation steps.

After tearing it off, I noticed the ugliness of it. Ah well... After working a bit to clean it up I drew it by hand, using the faint guidelines.


On the other sneaker I wanted to draw the Beatles iconic road crossing. This was done entirely by hand.
And then I decorated the other parts of the sneaker.
